About 16 weeks post-surgery. I should be perfect. No such luck. Toe still bothers me. In my attempts to try and get it to calm down, I've been taping it up. Then what - my knee starts bothering me. I'm just falling apart! I refuse to accept this is how it's going to be. I'll figure it out.

It's been a really busy, hectic, crazy couple of months. The coaching business is skyrocketing, the triathlon club is growing and everyone, including myself, is excited and ready for the warm weather to hit Chicago so we can work out in more comfortable temperatures. We're still working out - we always do - but as spring temperatures near (sort of), I can't help but know in the back of my head that summertime is just around the corner. And I can't wait.

I've lost some of the "baggage" I've been carrying around for a couple years. You know, commitments, obligations, stuff you need to do that really doesn't help you in any way? Sometimes you need to be careful of the people who take advantage of you. Some people always want something from you but then never want to give in return. Sometimes it's not just people, but an organization. I have a hard time saying no when someone asks me for help. So recently, a couple of those "obligations" have gone by the wayside. And it makes me realize just how taken advantage of I was. I know the right decisions were made when I don't miss a darn thing about them. On to bigger and better things! A good partnership involves benefits to BOTH parties.

Today we held a Swim Analysis Clinic - something I've been planning for a long time. It was amazing. It went flawlessly. I cannot wait to do this more often. It's such a valuable tool for a swimmer to be able to SEE themselves, both above and under water. To document the stroke to be able to analyze it again in the future. Wow, I really do enjoy helping people get the best out of themselves.

Here's to an amazing 2012 season. It only gets better from here!
